On Dec. 6, 2014, Bali Sharks w/ assistance from the resurrected Gili Shark Foundation transferred six sharks to Gili Trawangan via fast boat. (Gili Getaway) The 2 Brown Banded Bamboo, caught in netting and 4 Coral Cat Sharks, were met by a team from Gili Eco Trust and students from UWCSEA - Singapore. Sharks were then transferred to a second boat provided by Trawangan Dive Center and taken to the "bounty wreck," off Gili Meno where they were successfully released. The location will possible be earmarked for future Cat Shark releases as it provides a safe haven from fishermen offering a full life cycle opportunity. One of the Bamboo sharks was a female that had recently deposited several pairs of eggs into the Bali Sharks nursery. 23 cat shark eggs have also been relocated to the Gili reef projects. The Bamboo Sharks were released on the surface while the 4 Coral Cat Sharks were diver assisted below to a new home under coral. Special thanks as event was captured on video by Adrienne Gittus.
